Chapter 3, Autumn Night
Her entire face was buried in Feino's arms, her cries muffled, resembling the wailing of a night spirit, as if she were trying to release all her endurance, pain, and grievances through her tears. There were no constraints, nor was there any need for pretense; in this world, she was left all alone, and what was there left to disguise?
Fei Nuo could easily imagine the expression on Pan Yue's face when she said this sentence, and Pan Xi Nian's demeanor while learning this sentence was strikingly similar to that of her father. After she finished speaking, she was momentarily taken aback, as if realizing the implications of her words, yet she still managed to force a smile.
This is Su Shi's "After the Red Cliffs Ode." Fei Nuo, while reciting, was actually thinking back to many years ago when he was still a student, having accompanied Pan Yue to a small island to investigate the local architecture. The group of teacher and students stayed in a historically ancient courtyard, and after nightfall, they would sit by the stone table and benches in the garden, drinking tea and chatting leisurely. Nearby, there was a small temple, and in the bright moonlight of the night, the silhouette of the slender tower could be seen.
On both sides of the road are homes, the tall buildings are brightly lit, and the aroma of food wafts through the air. Perhaps it is the elderly parents cooking a bowl of porridge for their children, or maybe it is the wife waiting for her husband to return home to share this delayed dinner; which family is gathered together watching a television drama, and whose home is filled with the sound of mahjong being played late into the night
This was the first time she calmly brought up her deceased parents. Feino also looked at her, lowering his voice as if afraid to disturb the tranquility of the moment: "In the autumn of the Renxu year, on the fifteenth day of the eighth month?"
Fino took off his coat and sat at the other end of the sofa: "They are your elders, specifically here to see you, and you can say whatever comes to mind."
A shimmering light appeared in Pan Xinian's eyes, and a blush spread to the corners of his eyes and cheeks. His entire face radiated an unprecedented look of fascination and satisfaction since the incident. Upon hearing Feino's voice, he trembled slightly, as if awakening from a deep dream, and softly said: "I remember now, my mother once taught me to recite another poem."
The matters concerning the Pan family have finally come to a conclusion. The previous turmoil caused by Pan Xinian was so intense that this calm resolution was somewhat unexpected for Feino. In the aftermath, Pan Xing, as he mentioned, called almost every day to inquire about well-being, and occasionally sent gifts, covering all aspects of daily necessities. However, Pan Xinian, unable to see them and finding them unsuitable, simply cast them aside.
The only support suddenly vanished, and Pan Xinian could no longer stand firm; her legs went weak, and she fell to the ground. Fei Nuo looked down at her and said in an unprecedentedly cold tone: "What kind of skill is it to slowly starve to death? If you really want to die, the road is right in front of you"
As soon as the Pan couple entered, they gave Feino a big "surprise"
They walked through the residential area and finally arrived at the main road. The wide street was brightly lit, with cars whizzing by, merging into streams of traffic
The conversation quickly got to the point. Mrs. Pan gazed at Pan Xinian with a loving look, entrusting all her words to Mr. Pan: "Mr. Fei, thank you for taking care of Xinian on behalf of Pan Yue and Ai Jing during this time. She is their only daughter and has always been cherished. Now that this unfortunate incident has occurred, they must be heartbroken... Before we came, we discussed it and would like to take Xinian to live with us. Firstly, she should call me 'uncle,' and it is our duty to take care of our niece; secondly, she currently has no other relatives around, and her health is not good. We cannot just stand by and watch her suffer alone in a foreign place; thirdly, since we have already been contacted, it would be unreasonable to trouble you further, Mr. Fei."
Pan Xinian was taken aback, her whole body frozen in place. After a while, she finally remembered to push away her distant uncle and aunt, who had rushed over to shower her with a flood of sympathetic tears. However, they held her so tightly that she could hardly move.
Fei Nuo watched her shake her head, still not expressing her stance. Later, she simply called Yang Shuru, who was left in the bedroom, to come out and watch Pan Xinian, while she herself went upstairs alone, leaving Pan Xinian to communicate and interact with the Pan couple.
Fei Nuo walked over and opened the door. Aunt Xu lowered her voice and said, "Mr. Fei, why did you leave? As soon as you left, they began to pressure Xi Nian."
Good
As soon as the door opened, without any pleasantries, and even before they could clearly see what the person looked like, one rushed forward and embraced Pan Xinian, who was completely unaware of the situation on the sofa. The other took hold of one of her hands and began to cry, saying: "Xinian, how did you become so thin? You've suffered so much, it really hasn't been easy. When the incident happened, we had no idea. If we had known, we would never have left you alone in a foreign place to endure such loneliness..." When the incident happened, we had no idea. If we had known, we would never have left you alone in a foreign place to endure such loneliness..."
"Fino, I do not want to live with them. If you find me troublesome, send me back to the hospital. Do not pack me up and throw me to others like an object." She was almost speaking word for word.
Fei Nuo glanced back at the struggling Pan Xi Nian, easing the grip of his hand, and instead took hold of her slender wrist. Although his pace slowed, he did not stop for a moment.
He continued to recite, allowing himself and Pan Xinian to once again sink into memories alongside the verses from a thousand years ago. Although Feino had never read poetry to anyone, he was well-known among the students at T University’s School of Architecture for his beautiful voice. At this moment, he was deeply engrossed in his recitation, and Pan Xinian was clearly even more captivated, slightly widening his eyes, tilting his face to one side, and staring motionlessly in the direction of Feino.
As he looked up, he saw the crescent moon peeking out from behind the dark clouds, and said to Pan Xinian, who was resting on his shoulder: "The moon has come out"
After the incident involving Pan, Pan Xinian gradually became closer to Feino, which could be considered the only positive outcome following this series of upheavals. Hearing her speak so cautiously, Feino smiled and said, "It's fine. Don't stand, please sit."
Pan Xinian was momentarily silent. As Feino waited patiently, he noticed that compared to a few hours ago when they left this street, the lights in the houses on both sides had dimmed considerably. He freed up a hand to check his watch, and to his surprise, it was already the early hours of the morning
Fei Nuo asked Aunt Xu to pour water for the guests, and upon seeing that Pan Xi Nian was still trembling slightly, he inquired, "Xi Nian, are you feeling hot? Your forehead is covered in sweat. Come and sit down." After saying this, he disregarded the gaze of Mr. and Mrs. Pan, took Pan Xi Nian's hand, and settled her into a separate chair
Yang Shuru and Aunt Xu were both nearby, appearing quite interested in Pan Xinian's question, waiting together for an answer. Fei Nuo said calmly: "Your father was my teacher, and I was the first to arrive at the scene when the incident occurred, handling everything. From beginning to end, Xinian, it is my responsibility to take care of you"
These words clearly resonated with Pan Xinian, causing her to burst into laughter: "Yes, my mother always says he doesn't look like a professor. He just asks: 'What does a professor look like? Horizontal or vertical?'"
In a state of astonishment, I watched as Pan Xinian silently struggled and resisted, yet was effortlessly dragged by the tall Fei Nuo to the door. Just as it seemed they were about to exit, Yang Shuru finally remembered to speak: "Mr. Fei..."
I am his student
He stayed in the workshop on the second floor for over an hour, calmly reviewing the literature and organizing the materials at hand, until Aunt Xu came to knock on the door and said, "The guest is about to leave"
Pan Xinian was taken aback by this statement and chuckled softly: "Feino, my father used to say that you are a good person with a cold exterior but a warm heart."
A tear-soaked patch has stopped, no longer expanding, breathing returns to calm, and the trembling body finally stabilizes. A few words are lighter than the fragrance of flowers in the night air, floating up and landing by the ear: "I'm sorry, Feno. Thank you"
"You are not a burden." Feino frowned, "However, if you must ask why... you need care, and I am able to provide that at this moment. There is no particular reason, nor any special explanation. It is simply the way it is."
Since one is reluctant to die, one must live well. Are you going home now?
This is the collection of writings by Su Dongpo
I cannot see," she said softly
They stepped on the fallen leaves of the phoenix tree, producing a faint sound. Pan Xinian was tripped by something and nearly fell. Fei Nuo stopped in his tracks, saw her gasping for breath with great effort, yet remained silent, supporting her as they continued walking.
Pan Xinian raised his face in a misty gaze filled with tears, but slowly shook his head.
I can recite this one too. But my mother prefers another one. After saying this, Pan Xinian straightened up, hugged his calves, rested his chin on his knees, and pondered for a moment, revealing a smile that was hard to discern, and slowly recited: "On the twelfth day of the tenth month in the sixth year of the Yuanfeng era, at night, I took off my clothes and was about to sleep, when the moonlight entered the room, and I happily set out. There was no one to enjoy the moment with, so I went to the Cheng Tian Temple to seek Zhang Huaimin. Huaimin had not yet fallen asleep, and we walked together in the courtyard. Slowly reciting: 'On the twelfth day of the tenth month in the sixth year of the Yuanfeng era, at night, I took off my clothes and was about to sleep, when the moonlight entered the room, and I happily set out. There was no one to enjoy the moment with, so I went to the Cheng Tian Temple to seek Zhang Huaimin. Huaimin had not yet fallen asleep, and we walked together in the courtyard. The courtyard below was like a pool of clear water, with algae and water plants intertwined, reflecting the shadows of bamboo and cypress. What night is without the moon? Where is there no bamboo and cypress? Only a few idle people like us two."
Pan Xinian raised his eyebrows slightly and nodded: "Alright"
Pan Xinian simply shook his head
Thus, Feino adjusted his sitting posture, turned the pages of the book, thought for a moment, and then handed the book to Pan Xinian, saying, "You can turn the pages."
Although her fear of strangers is slowly improving, it has not completely healed. With such a strong stimulus, her complexion and expression quickly changed, her lips trembled, and her movements became more forceful. Seeing this, Feino realized that he could not allow this performance to continue, and spoke up: "Mr. Pan, she cannot see, and is a bit fearful of strangers. The doctor said it is best not to let her experience too much emotional fluctuation, as it could affect the blood clot."
As the writing gradually improved, the door suddenly opened, bringing in a gentle breeze. Fino's hands left the keyboard, and his eyes shifted away from the nearby references to look at the person standing by the door: "What is it, Xinian?"
After finishing this sentence, Pan Xinian bit his lip, remained silent for a long time, and finally said: "I do not want to be a burden to you, but I really do not like them"
"Upon opening the account, one cannot see its location." After reading this sentence, Feino glanced at the clock and paused, "Xinian, I have finished reading."
Fei Nuo released her hand after speaking, staring at Pan Xi Nian, who trembled like the last leaf falling in autumn, and pursed her lips, saying nothing further. Pan Xi Nian's body swayed slightly, her face devoid of any expression, her hands hanging down in a daze as she listened for a long time to the sounds of cars and people. Just as she seemed about to collapse into the depths of the traffic, she suddenly turned around, clung tightly to Fei Nuo, and began to cry out loud. Her body swayed slightly, her face devoid of any expression, her hands hanging down in a daze as she listened for a long time to the sounds of cars and people. Just as she seemed about to collapse into the depths of the traffic, she suddenly turned around, clung tightly to Fei Nuo, and began to cry out loud.
He pulled her along continuously. At first, Pan Xinian resisted stubbornly, trying to shake off his hand that was gripping her arm. However, she soon realized that this was futile. No matter how angry she was or how hard she tried to kick and hit, she had not eaten a grain of rice for three days.
Once the surgery is completed, vision will be restored
After speaking, Feino once again pulled her up from the ground, leading her, who had no strength to resist, to the edge of the road. The sound of cars roared just a few steps away from them, and amidst the rumbling noise, he said to the terrified Pan Xinian: "It is not difficult to seek death at all. If you still think this way now, my hand has already loosened. It's up to you."
As soon as he entered, Pan Xinian was already seated in the living room. She recognized Fei Nuo's footsteps, turned her head, and with an unmistakable tension in her voice said, "Fei Nuo"
Pan Xinian leaned against the door, then against the wall, and slowly made his way to the edge of the sofa, whispering: "I know you are very busy..."
Pan nodded in agreement and, with a pleasant expression, turned to ask Pan Xinian: "Xinian, would you like to come home with your aunt and me?"
Pan Xinian, who was lying on his back, felt a tremor and tightened his grip slightly. Without any warning, he spoke again: "You have already given me this; you are my family."
No matter how uninvited one may be, since one has arrived, it is indeed appropriate to meet. He informed Pan Xinian of this matter in advance, and then hurried home from school, arriving even earlier than the relatives of the Pan family.
In the late night streets, only the streetlights and the fragrance of osmanthus accompanied them, their overlapping shadows taking on strange shapes, swaying with each step as if they were some ancient mythical creature. Suddenly, Fei Nuo felt a chill on a spot on the back of his shirt; just as he turned around, he heard Pan Xinian say, "Let me cry one more time, and I will never cry again." It was as solemn as a vow.
Is that so
This is the crux of everything that has transpired in recent days. Feino felt a sense of relief as she took the initiative to bring it up, and he softly said: "Then speak up, tell me. No one will force you to do anything, do not be hard on yourself. It is not worth it at all."
Feino glanced back at Pan Xinian, who was pinching him with her nails, completely unfazed. He tossed out a remark, "She said she wanted to die, so I took her out for a walk, and we will be back soon," and then he pulled her along, striding away.
Feino smiled and said, "Neither do I."
After a while, Pan Xinian seemed to awaken, straightened his back as if to invigorate himself, turned his face towards Feino, and asked, "Feino, how did you come to know my parents? My dad only mentioned that you are his student"
"You resemble your father very much," Feino said, looking at her with emotion
After finishing this statement, Pan Xing did not look at Fei Nuo, instead directing his gaze towards the expressionless Pan Xi Nian beside him, as if seeking an answer from her. Pan Xing's words were clear, and Fei Nuo understood them just as well, yet he refrained from expressing his stance, smiling and saying: "Mr. Pan is too polite; I am not troubled and have no objections. This matter should still be decided by Xi Nian herself"
Fei Nuo glanced at the cover and was surprised to find that she had pulled out a collection of writings by Su Shi. She couldn't help but smile slightly and said, "I think this one is quite good; I wonder what you think of it"
The taxi took them to the nearest street corner. Fei Nuo walked ahead and, after taking two steps, noticed that Pan Xi Nian had not followed: "What’s wrong?"
"There is nothing to worry about. I am glad that you are willing to chat with me." Feino also stood up, wanting to assist her out, but seeing that she had already found her way, he stopped. "However, it is late now, and you should get some rest."
"Then when they arrive, could you sit beside me for a while?" She lowered her head slightly, appearing somewhat troubled, "I can't see them, nor do I know what they intend to do, and I feel anxious."
Since her discharge from the hospital, it was the first time she took the initiative to call Fei Nuo's name. Fei Nuo felt a stir in his heart, sighed, and said: "Do you remember? When you were in the hospital, you said you wanted a home. I also promised you that I would help you find a home. I thought perhaps being with your loved ones would make you a little happier"
It is the望 of the tenth month, walking from the Snow Hall, about to return to Linggao. Two guests accompany me, passing over the yellow mud slope. Frost and dew have already fallen, and the leaves of the trees have all fallen. Shadows of people on the ground, looking up to see the bright moon. I turn back and rejoice, singing in response to each other.
Fei Nuo thought to himself, even if I do not leave, am I not still clearly distinguishing between family and outsiders in front of Pan Xinian? However, he did not say it outright, instead offering a slight smile: "Alright, I will go down to see the guests off now"
Upon descending the stairs, Fei Nuo saw Pan Xi Nian already standing up from the chair, holding Yang Shu Ru's hand, her expression resolute to the point of stubbornness. In an instant, he was momentarily struck by a fleeting resemblance to Ai Jing in her features. Startled, he focused again, and it was indeed that small Pan Xi Nian once more
I do not wish to live with strangers I have never met before she seemingly blurted out without any context
Was it not back then that "shadows of people on the ground, gazing at the bright moon"? They seemed to have mentioned the "Ode to the Red Cliffs" on some evening, but it was another poem—"With osmanthus paddles and orchid oars, striking the empty brightness and tracing the flowing light; my thoughts are distant, gazing at the beauty far away in the heavens"
Over there, after crying for a while, they temporarily ceased their lamentations. Mrs. Pan wiped her tears, while Mr. Pan wiped the sweat from his forehead. They continued to sit on either side of Pan Xinian, exchanging glances with each other, before Mr. Pan spoke up: "I truly apologize; seeing Xinian in this state made me momentarily lose my composure."
"What about you? You are not my family, so you don't have to care about me," she retorted.
He allowed Pan Xinian to cry silently, leading her through one long street after another in the night. As they walked for a long time, his palms became sweaty, and he could no longer hold her wrist firmly, so he turned to grasp her equally sweaty hand. At this moment, there were fewer pedestrians on the road, and even cars were seldom seen. The faint fragrance of osmanthus wafted through the air, followed by the scent of camphor, as the aromas of various plants intensified in the quiet night, guiding them to continue forward
He saw Pan Xinian's eyes light up in an instant, and could not help but feel both pity and emotion; she almost said without thinking: "Any book is fine, all is well."
Seeing this, Feno walked over to her, took her hand, and led her to a row of bookshelves against the wall, stopping in front of one of them: "All my miscellaneous books are here. Choose what you like, and I will tell you what they are after you finish."
Feino, however, let go of his hand
Thank you, uncle. Pan Xinian indeed agreed.
Feino nodded and said, "I also received the call on short notice"
No matter who it is, they are always ordinary people in the world, the most common and yet the most beautiful
After stepping out, seeing that Pan Xinian did not follow, Pan Xing stopped at the Fei family's door and said: "Xinian is still young and does not understand many things; Mr. Fei should be more accommodating."
Is this still called living?
Since Pan Xinian has clearly stated that he will not leave, the important task of informing the other party of this news has fallen to Feino. He called to explain Pan Xinian's intentions, but unexpectedly, the other party insisted on at least coming to see Pan Xinian.
The unfamiliar tone caused Pan Xinian to stiffen all over, and he raised his head in disbelief, his face reflecting an indescribable expression. Fei Nuo showed no pity: "Ai Jing held on until the very last moment, only closing her eyes upon hearing the news of your escape. She wanted to live, and she wanted you to live as well. You are the only one who survived, yet you speak of wanting to die"
I have never seen them before said Pan Xinian, furrowing his brow
Well
Pan Xinian took a deep breath, as if to carefully savor the scent of the books, and then extended his hand, gently allowing his fingers to glide over the spines of the books, lingering among them.
After sending off the couple Pan Xing, Fei Nuo returned home, and Pan Xi Nian lowered his eyes and said, "I do not like them"
"You have done very well, not troublesome at all." Feino still patted her hair, instinctively comforting her
The character "死" resembles a sharp point, and Fino's voice unconsciously grew tense: "Are you trying to die by not eating?"
They are your relatives, who have traveled a long distance to see you, expressing their desire to take care of you, all for your own good
The throw lacked any force; the pillow had not even reached Feino before it fell to the ground halfway. Only then did Feino see the scene in the room: the entire room was in complete disarray, with even the bed moved from its original position, as if a typhoon had swept through indoors. Pan Xinian was curled up in a corner of the bed, gripping the bedpost tightly with both hands, her hair disheveled and her face covered in tears
She retorted, "What is it?"
One evening after dinner, Fei Nuo left Pan Xi Nian in the living room to "watch television," while he himself went into the study. Ever since the incident with the Pan family, his work had basically come to a standstill, and it was only when Pan Xi Nian's condition gradually improved that he found time again. However, the date for Pan Xi Nian's surgery remained uncertain, so Fei Nuo wanted to take advantage of this current period of stability to quickly finish the first draft of the paper he was working on, thus bringing one matter to a close
Ordinary students and fellow townspeople would not go to such lengths, nor would they be willing to take care of a burden after having done so much.
I have sprained my ankle
This road is off-limits to taxis, and home is at the end of the road. Feino said little and carried Pan Xinian on his back
Pan Xinian appeared somewhat puzzled, yet he still took it, followed the instructions to turn a page, and then returned the book.
They all appeared extremely disheveled, with unkempt hair and untidy clothes, yet Feino simply allowed her to weep by the roadside amidst the incessant flow of traffic. He also retracted his earlier cold demeanor, gently patting her hair and back, completely disregarding the astonished and judgmental glances from passersby. When she grew tired and her sobs subsided, Feino slightly increased the distance between them and asked: "Do you still think so? Are you willing to?"
Her icy hair fell beside Feino's neck, like an endless stream of water. Her cheek gently turned against Feino's shoulder, bringing a faint yet genuine warmth. Her arms wrapped around Feino's neck, their fingers interlocking, occasionally brushing against his jaw. This road had never felt so long.
She seemed determined to get to the bottom of it, and Feino said: "We are still fellow townsmen. If we must say so, my father and your grandfather once worked together."
The resistance gradually weakened, turning into a passive following of the footsteps; later, even the footsteps became unsteady, and the suppressed sobs could no longer be concealed, gently drifting into Fino's ears with the autumn wind of that evening
She was very familiar with the arrangement of the study. After navigating around the rattan coffee table in front of the sofa and settling down, she raised her face and looked towards the direction of Feino on the other side of the room, as if she had made a significant decision, and continued to say: "I know you are very busy, but I really want to read... Aunt Xu doesn't dare to touch your books, and Sister Shuru said she doesn't understand them... The noise from the television is too much, and after listening for a long time, it gives me a headache..."
"You are not the first person to say this; everyone says so. Even my mother says it, although she is not as willing to do so." As Pan Xinian spoke, he supported himself on the armrest of the sofa and stood up, "Am I disturbing you for too long? I will return to my room first. Thank you for tonight."
They sat back on the sofa, each leaning to one side. Pan Xinian was half-sitting, half-kneeling, leaning against the cushion, looking expectantly towards Feino's direction, which made him appear somewhat nervous
Dragging into the living room, Yang Shuru was left dumbfounded—after all, they had lived together for a few months. Fei Nuo had always maintained a gentlemanly demeanor, never raising his voice when speaking. When had she ever seen him so forcefully pulling someone out the door?
Later, disregarding the opinions of Pan Xinian and Feino, and without any prior notice, the couple took a flight directly to City T. After landing, they called Feino to inform him that they had already arrived in City T
Feino glanced at Pan Xinian again, who was biting his lip tightly, his eyes brimming with tears, yet he stubbornly held them back, refusing to let them fall in front of him. Suddenly, he stepped forward, grabbing Pan Xinian's arm, disregarding how the latter kicked, hit, and bit him, and forcefully pulled him down from the bed. Without saying a word, he seized his wrist and dragged him towards the front door.
"The Year of the Hope." Feino couldn't help but frown
This marks the conclusion of the prelude, preparing to enter the main topic
At this moment, she had slowly walked to the door, and upon hearing his words, she turned around again: "Well then, good night"
She is very understanding
It was unexpected that Pan Yue had such an evaluation of himself, and it was conveyed through Pan Xinian's words. Feino raised his eyebrows slightly, almost imperceptibly, but for a rare moment, he found himself at a loss for words, merely responding with a noncommittal "mm".
She cried out of loneliness, completely unaware that at this moment her body was warm, even hot, and the body of the person embracing her was also warm. They were both alive, having traveled such a long way, hearing so many voices and laughter, and smelling those scents. Ultimately, this is all the essence of human existence. The essence of human existence is simply being alive
Fino could not help but smile upon hearing these words: "Thank you, Xinian"
Her voice grew lower and lower, as if she had become shy. It was only then that Feino realized it was indeed his oversight; he should have prepared some audiobooks for her earlier. However, since she had spoken up, Feino thought for a moment and nodded: "Tomorrow I will select some audiobooks for you. If there is anything you would like to listen to, you can let me know. But today, I can read to you if you are willing."
What should I say to them
Fei Nuo lowered his eyes and saw that it was this article. He quickly skimmed through it and simply closed the book, saying before leaving: "What a coincidence, I really like this article."
"I tell you to get lost! You threw me away like garbage to a stranger, and I don't need your hypocritical pretense of caring for the life or death of this blind person. I would rather accompany them to death!" She let out a low growl.
In the clear and soft voice of the girl, Feino averted his gaze slightly, only to see the crescent moon outside the window and the shadows of the trees. He then turned his attention back to Pan Xinian's face, noticing her lowered brows and eyes, fixed in a daze at a certain corner of the floor, and in that moment, he could no longer bring himself to speak.
Pan Xinian, in the bend of the Feino Arm, is trembling slightly. It is unclear when her tears have ceased, and her forehead is covered in beads of sweat, while her once cold body has begun to warm up.
"Teacher Pan," he pondered for a moment and continued, "When I was still in school, I really didn't perceive him as a teacher. He was always so energetic, appearing so youthful, that in a crowd he seemed more like a senior student, taking us out for field trips and even bringing back drinks to treat everyone..."
Her fingertips were pale, like a newly hatched chick, cautiously probing the unknown world. Fino observed her engrossed expression and couldn't help but frown slightly. However, it was at that moment that Pan Xinian had already pulled out a book, nervously pressing her lips together: "I can't see it, if it's not good, let's change it."
The expressions on Mr. and Mrs. Pan's faces were not good, disappointment and embarrassment intertwined, revealing all the answers. Upon seeing Fei Nuo coming downstairs, Mrs. Pan glanced at him, her resentment clear. However, Mr. Pan remained calm, walking over to extend his hand: "Her condition is currently unstable, which is understandable. The doctors here are more familiar with her situation, so it would be better not to travel long distances before the surgery. We are out of town and cannot be by her side all the time, so it seems that Miss Yang will have to bear more of the burden during this time, and it will also be a strain on Mr. Fei. Xi Nian, my aunt and I will still come to see you. If you need anything, want to eat something, or require any other items, please be sure to call us. Xi Nian, my aunt and I will still come to see you. If you need anything, want to eat something, or require any other items, please be sure to call us. Is that alright?"
